WINNT\system32\drivers\hardlock.sy s
My antivirus program gave me a message that a suspicious file, "WINNT\system32\drivers\hardlock.sys" was found and may be a malware infection. Can anyone tell me if this file should be deleted or ignored? (I am using Windows XP pro and not Windows NT) Thank you1 person needs an answerI do too

Here is a very informative thread on another forum that discusses this exact issue: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53619.0 It's probably a false-positive but you should read through that thread anyway.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

More INFO hardlock.sys file informationhttp://www.file.net/process/hardlock.sys.html.....Important: Some malware camouflage themselves as hardlock.sys, particularly if they are located in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folder. Thus check the hardlock.sys process on your pc whether it is pest. Gerald60606 Windows Live Spaces http://gerald60606.spaces.live.com/default.aspx
